from the artist of Fire and Fang Studios...
The "sketch a day book" has been going, it seems more like 2 or 3 concurrently then one a day. I have been finishing things mostly on time, and I do have actually enough for the week. I am also enjoying the paper in this sketchbook as well, I enjoy it the spiral bound respect of it. I have found the following about sketchbooks based off the last year or so:
I love them, I cannot have enough of them! I keep a small black bound one for planning/note taking/listing/doodling/etc, and then at least one other drawings, like stuff I want to rip out and give away, sell, keep somewhere else, use as an example, etc. Altho, with the first concurrent sketchbook I kept that was spiral bound, it was a Walmart cheapie that I ended up butchering for the pages that had decent drawings on them and tossing it. So it sort of defeated the cataloging purpose I usually do with my sketchbooks.
I actually have sketchbooks from my freshman year of HS all the way up til now. And it's typically one a year, some years more. Some classes in college/HS required a sketchbook so I kept one independent of whatever I was working in at the time so I have those as well. To me, they are just a really nice chronology of my work and my personal development. It's funny to look at Alpha Raye from 10 years ago vs. now. I might have to post the first drawing of her.
I also have to get off my ass and start working on my next book. The author wants to have it done by the end of summer and really it's a good thing that way, as I will have a school hopefully. Good and bad: it will be her last book.
Other then that, just more random arting will ensue. I do believe the "Sketch a Day" book is going to mostly from the world of Fire and Fang, since I have yet to conglomerate alot of images of our characters from our world anywhere in any sort of order or style. We will see. I like the idea. And Batman, well, he's important to me, he sort of is in the world of Fire and Fang... sorta kinda. Teehee.
Okay, now I have 2 hours to churn out day 9. Wish me luck!
